ISFMI among finalists for the Fire Grand Challenge

Conservation X Labs has named 12 groundbreaking teams as finalists in the Fire Grand Challenge for Western North America!

From robotic wildfire suppression and AI-powered reforestation to cultural fire stewardship, these teams are blending cutting-edge technology with place-based knowledge to tackle the growing wildfire crisis. Each finalist team has an innovation and a partner community and over the next nine months, will receive $50,000 and tailored support to test their solutions in real-world fire-prone landscapes, spanning from British Columbia, Canada, to Chiapas, Mexico.

ISFMI is excited to be one of these finalists and further scale and test our solution “Expanding Emissions Reduction Traditional Fire Management to Mexico’s Diverse Fire Adapted Ecosystems” with our partner community, BIOMASA A.C., in Villaflores, Chiapas, Mexico.
