Guatemala Feasibility Study for Emissions Reduction Traditional Fire Management Methodology (2024)

This report presents the identification and scientific evaluation of potential sites for implementing traditional fire management methods in Guatemala.

For this study, three pilot sites were identified in the Sierra del Lacandón National Park, in the municipality of Las Cruces and Libertad Peten, whose main objective is to determine the ideal conditions for the implementation of the traditional fire management methodology.

Report findings highlight a viable pilot site for the implementation with the Cooperativa La Técnica.
