‘Women in Fire - Weaving Country, Women and Fire’ - Event Report Released

On the 21 January 2021, women from the Kimberley, Gibson Desert, northern Queensland, Northern Territory, New South Wales and Mexico came together on zoom to share fire stories.

The Women in Fire Network created an online space to connect First Nations' women working on country with fire, native foods and cultural knowledge with women who are passionate about elevating community solutions to share experiences. The purpose of the gathering was to:

  • Share stories and learn from each other.

  • Learn about the Women in Fire Initiative which aims to connect First Nation women working on country to global opportunities.

  • Hear about upcoming events and opportunities.
