Voices from the 2023 North Australia Savanna Fire Forum

The Indigenous Carbon Industry Network (ICIN) has thanked participants for for being part of the 2023 North Australian Savanna Fire Forum. Once again, the ICIN network presented an outstanding event, showcasing extraordinary land management and providing a 360° update of the industry and new technologies.

Across three days, the Indigenous Carbon Industry Network hosted 480 people at plenaries and workshops at CDU on Larrakia country. Together with 23 ICIN members, industry and government representatives, we presented 15 plenary sessions, 12 workshops and the Networking Event. It was quite an achievement for ICIN’s small staff in Darwin.

ICIN Co-Chair and ISFMI Board Member Cissy Gore-Birch said, "Thanks to our CEO Anna and team for all their hard work in bringing this forum together, and to our members, directors, partners and supporters - it couldn't happen without you."

“We all have a responsibility to manage country and fire is very important. We must continue to share resources, knowledge and to share this vision, to create even greater benefits for us all.”

As reported on here, attendees included representatives from over 30 different Indigenous groups, scientists and 35 international delegates from ten different countries, who explored the theme ‘Our Past Informs Our Future’. ICIN thanked event sponsors, including the ISFMI.

Hear what some of the events participating elders, industry leaders and ISFMI sponsored international delegates had to say.
