Opportunities and challenges for savanna burning emissions abatement in southern Africa

In a major peer reviewed article in Elsevier’s Journal of Environmental Management published online 7th April 2021, researchers from the International Savanna Fire Management Initiative and academic partners confirmed that the same practices of Indigenous fire management generating globally significant emissions reductions in the north of Australia can equally be used across vast swathes of Southern Africa. This research establishes the technical viability of an important Nature Based Solution to climate change. Read the Article here.
